We have made dozens of different types of mission beds. This is only a small set of examples of the various styles.
Many, we made before the age of digital photography, and they are only memories, or grainy 35mm photos. WE CAN MAKE YOU AN ARTS & CRAFTS BED....THE WAY YOU WANT IT.
The first decision is whether you want a headboard and metal frame, or a traditional head/foot and wooden side rails.
Are you going to use a foundation and mattress, a mattress only, or a futon. We can also adapt metal waterbed frames to any of our headboards and footboards. The height of the head and foot boards is critical to the appearance.
The height of the top of the mattress off the floor is critical to comfort in entering or exiting the bed.
The height of the side rails from the floor decides if there can be storage under the bed.
All of the various dimensional parameters work in harmony to produce a comfortable, functional, and attractive bed.
Some of the dimensions control the range of other dimensions.....
for example
....side rails 11" off the floor for under bed storage, coupled with a 10" box spring,
a 14" mattress, and a 4" memory foam topper......
Well, we can direct you to a good parachute supplier...you will need one to get off the bed.
The bedding thickness is a strong determining factor in the bed configuration.
Next, is there a style that you prefer. What is the setting and size of the room?
Is it bright, large, confined? Is the bed to be placed among existing antiques?
This is just the start of the questions that need to be asked when picking a bed style.
We are able to work with you in finding the style that will suit you and your settings' personality.
Our 25 years of experience in making Mission beds can help you decide.
If we don't have a picture of a similar style bed, we can draw one. |
